Albert F. Williamson, 85, of Clayton, husband of Frankie Philyaw Williamson, died Thursday, July 21, 2010 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Born July 26, 1924 in Rabun County he was a son of the late Robert and Ruby Grist Williamson. He was a Mechanic for the Georgia Power Company, a WWII veteran having served in the Pacific Theater and was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church where he was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and James Williamson, two sisters, Mary Alexander and Martha Handley.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Steven Williamson of Tiger, GA; a daughter, Jan Vonk and husband Paul of Mountain City, GA; two sisters, Lillie Williamson of Mountain City, GA and Adele Chamlee of Jonesboro, GA.; four grandchildren Michelle, Alyssa, Ryan and Megan and four great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday July 23, 2010 at the Clayton Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Thompson and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park Cemetery in Tiger.
The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM at the Clayton Baptist Church Friday July 23, 2010.
Friends may sign the guest book at Hunter Funeral Home between the hours of 5 PM Thursday and noon Friday, July 23, 2010.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers Memorial donations be made to the Clayton Baptist Church, 87 South Church Street, Clayton, GA 30525.
The family is at the home on North Valley Street in Clayton.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
