Arvilla Gertrude Gillespie 96, Clayton, Georgia.


Arvilla Gertrude Telles Gillespie, affectionately known as “Trudy”, 96, of Clayton, widow of Marvin M. Gillespie died June 1, 2012 in Savannah, GA.
Born October 27, 1915 in Batesville, Indiana she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Flora Blank Telles. She was Co-Owner operator of Marvin’s Restaurant in Clayton for a number of years and was a member of Clayton First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Judy Church and three brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Lawrence and Marie Gillespie of Clayton, a daughter and a son-in-law Linda and Scott Sutt of Savannah, GA.; one sister Sue Lewis. Ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 4 PM, Sunday June 3, 2012 at the Clayton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Ray and Ed Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2 PM until 3:30 PM Sunday, June 3, 2012.
The family is at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law Dr. Lawrence and Marie Gillespie Kingwood, Dr. in Clayton.
