Fred Gipson

Fred "Runt" Gipson, 94, of Lakemont, GA passed away on October 10, 2021 at his home.

Born in Rabun County on October 30, 1926 he was the son of the late Learney Gipson and Lola Beard. He spent his life in Rabun County where he worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Learney and Lola Gipson, his wife, Lotha Marcus Gipson and his brothers and sisters. He was the last of nine children to Learney and Lola.

He is survived by serveral nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to say a special thank you to his caregivers, Bobbie Lynn Fields and Tracy Turpin and also to Amedisys Hospice.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where it will be taken to Wiley Cemetery on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 for a graveside service at 2:00pm with Anthony Worley officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Paw 4 Life.

The family is at their respective residences.
