Ida Gibson Watts 92, Clayton, GA


Ida Gibson Watts, 92, of the Five Points Community, affectionately known as “Maw” and widow of Kelton C. Watts died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at her residence.
Born in Towns County, GA. August 28, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lizzie Ramey Gibson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Carvers Chapel Baptist Church.
Mrs.Watts was preceded in death by one son; Jimmy Watts and one daughter, Evelyn Watts. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Watts of Clarkesville, GA and Bill Watts of Clayton, GA, three daughters, Shirley Welborn of Hollywood, GA., Joyce Ramey and Janice Edmondson both of Clayton, GA.; three granddaughters raised in the home, Karen Keith, Tammy Haynes, and Kim Dailey all of Clayton, GA. twenty three grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren and thirty three great great grandchildren. Several nieces nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Carvers Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Oliver Rice and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park with Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating at the graveside.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday, February 5, 2010 from 6 PM until 9 PM.
The family is at the home of a son Bill Watts on Hershey Lane in Clayton.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
