Joann Key Hopper, 78, of Humprey Lane Clayton, Georgia, died Sunday October 9, 2022 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, Georgia.
Born in Clayton, GA., June 24, 1944 she was the daughter of the late James Robert Key and Annie Ruth Benfield Key. She was a paralegal for the Slowen Law Firm and a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death besides her parents, James and Annie Ruth Key by a grandson, Derrick Mayfield and three sisters, Ruth Miller, Betty Baker and Melissa Hunter and is survived by one son, and daughter-in-law Allen (Dowana) Hopper of Rabun Gap, Georgia., one daughter and son-in-law Kim (Melvin) English of Clayton, Georgia., one brother, and sister-in-law Bobby (Shirley) Key of Lakemont, Georgia. Three sisters, Shirley Cole of Paducah, KY., Judy (Knox) Kell of Clayton, GA., and Kathy Key of Clayton, GA., One brother in-law, Gerald Hunter of Tiger, Georgia. Three grandchildren and their spouses Ashlee (Travis) Hooper, Becka (Caney) Carpenter and Austin (Haley) Hopper. Three great grandchildren, Colton Henricks, Addie Hooper and Ellie Faye Hopper also survive.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday October 12, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church Tiger, Georgia., 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Danny Cannon Officiating. Burial will follow in the Tiger Cemetery Tiger, Georgia.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to Bethel Baptist Church Wednesday October 12, 2022 where visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. (the service hour).
The family is at their respective residences.
