Margaret Dendy Owens 88, Clayton , Ga.


Margaret Dendy Owens , widow of Verlon Owens , of Clayton passed away on Saturday, March 14 , 2009 in Lawrenceville . She was born on June 13, 1920 to the late Rev. Floyd and Mattie Mae Dendy of Highlands ., She was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church and the Rabun County Chapter #164 of the Eastern Star , Clayton . She is survived by a daughter , Doris Barker , of Westminster , S.C., and three sons , Rufus and Kathy Owens of Winder, Norman and Jane Owens of Buford , and Rev. Geter and Rhonda Owens of Toccoa . She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, brothers , Lewis Dendy of Highlands and Henry Ervin Dendy of Clyde , North Carolina , and sisters , Mozelle Edwards and Joann Elmore of Highlands also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Monday March 16 , 2009 at two O’clock P.M. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Geter Owens and Rev. Madison McCrackin. Burial will be held in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday March 15, 2009 and again on Monday March 16, 2009 at one O’clock P.M. until service time.
