Shirley Welborn

Shirley Ann Watts Welborn, Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Welborn was born on October 11, 1940, in Clayton, Georgia, to the late Kelton and Ida Gibson Watts. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Watts; sister, Evelyn Watts; great-granddaughter, Kayla Dotson. Mrs. Welborn was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She was employed as a health caregiver.

Survivors include her husband, William E. Welborn, Clarkesville; daughters, Marie Lang, Cornelia, Gail Welborn, Clarkesville, Dennia Pankey, Winder; son, Buck Watts, Demorest; sisters, Joyce Ramey, Clayton, Janice Edmondson, Clayton; brothers, Bill Watts, Clayton, Joe Watts, Clarkesville; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Rogers and Rev. Avery Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in the Flat Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Alberto Giovino officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Flat Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 1433 Low Gap Road, Lakemont, GA 30552.
