Sue Giles Sharpe, 85, of Lakemont, Georgia., died Tuesday July 10, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Trion, Georgia. September 1, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Grady Lee and Ruth Williams Giles. She was a widow, having been preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Sharpe. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Poteete; by two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Sharpe was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by two daughters; Susan E. McCracken and her husband Clem of Lakemont and Shelly L. Sharpe and her finance Duane Stombaugh of Lakemont, Grandchildren Georgia and Josh Reid and Swannie McCracken of Lakemont and Fawn and Lee Poole of Long Creek, SC. Three great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Janie P. Sharpe of Tennessee and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Mrs. Sharpe was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alpharetta, GA; a member of the AGAPE club, the choir, was the wedding guild director, the Georgia walkers club, 54 and more club and the Roswell striders.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home in Clayton, GA., and will be taken to Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta, Tennessee, where graveside services will be Thursday July 12, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. (Central Time) with Rev. Robert Wright officiating.
