Violet Thompson

Violet LeFay Thompson, daughter of the late Ora and Charles Cannon and the late Roy L. Justus passed away October 18 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was born in the Persimmon Community of Rabun County on 11/20/1934. She was preceded in death by one child, Penny Gay Thompson, one brother Ray L. Justus, and one niece Paula Ann Phillips, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Kilby, Mr. Mrs. James Estus Justus. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Kay Thompson of Lakemont and one sister-in-law Virginia K. Justus, three nieces: Valerie Speed, Karen Alley both of Rabun Gap and Beverly Phillips of Hollywood, Maryland, and one great nephew Lucas Speed. Additionally, one special friend Tricia Stockton and many aunts, uncles, and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday October 22, 2013 at the Persimmon Baptist Church with Pastor Madison McCrackin and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday October 21, 2013 at the New Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the Persimmon Baptist Church at 12: 00 noon Tuesday October 22, 2013 to lie- in- state. The family is at the home of her daughter, Pam Thompson on Old 441, South, Lakemont, GA. 30552
