William Billingsley

November 29, 1917 — March 31, 2013

William Franklin “Dub” Billingsley went home to be with the Father on March 31, 2013. He left behind a lifetime of loving memories – Memories of his being there in times of difficulty as well as times of joy. He never traveled far or received much worldly recognition. He just didn’t need to – he found the fountain of living water right where he lived – inside his own heart. He drank from it deeply each day, lived close to the earth, and poured out Gods love into the lives of those around him. What a fine example of a life well lived.

Funeral services memorializing the life of “Dub” Billingsley, age 95, of Ritchie Road, Scaly Mountain, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from the Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church in Scaly Mountain. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM where it will lie in state until the service hour. Rev. Gary McCall, Rev. Cale Stancil, and Rev. Terry Whitesides will officiate with interment to follow the service at Scaly Mountain Methodist Cemetery.
