Betty Evelyn Taylor Savarese, 89, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Scenic View Skilled Nursing Facility in Baldwin, GA. Born and raised in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Howard and Laura Mageline (Ledbetter) Taylor.

A graduate of Rabun County High School, Evelyn worked at Clayburn Manufacturing for many years. Outside of work, her life was filled with music. She was a talented guitarist and singer who shared her love of country music as a solo artist and as an enthusiastic member of her band, The Black Rock Mountain Boys, performing for various radio and community events.
In her later years while residing in Toccoa, GA, Evelyn found great satisfaction in honing her skills as an artist. She spent much of her time drawing, painting, and exploring various creative hobbies, while also taking deep pride in learning more about her Cherokee heritage.
