Betty Simmons

Betty Ann Emory Simmons, age 73, passes away on May 11, 2023.

Betty was born on December 7, 1949, in Rabun County to the late Jess Emory and Mary Frances Ledbetter Emory. She is survived by her loving fiancé Davis Green whom she spent the last 23 years with. Betty and Davis loved each other dearly and they treasured every moment they shared during their relationship. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and was the sweetest woman you would ever meet. For every birthday or special occasion, she would send out a card commemorating the occasion.

In addition to her fiancé, Davis Green, she is survived by one daughter, Lisa Hansford and husband Tim of Athens, GA; three grandchildren, Tabitha Loggins, Taylor Loggins and Ashton Hansford; two great-grandchildren, Remington Loggins and Jaedyn Appleby; one sister Rose Hunnicutt; and one sister-in-law, Charlotte Emory.

She is preceded in death one daughter, Melinda Jo Loggins, one brother, Robert Emory, and Willa Mae Hooper.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Burrell, Rev. Ray Conner and Pastor Marvin Reid officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Taylors Chapel Cemetery.
