Betty Joe White

Betty Joe York White, age 88, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

She was born on February 28, 1938, in Pahokee, Florida, to the late Charlie York and Fannie York.

Betty enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. One of her greatest passions in life was raising Maltese puppies. She was well known for raising top bloodline Maltese and sold puppies to several notable individuals, including Burt Reynolds.

She is survived by her children, Donna Johnson (Terry), Karen White (Robert), and Tina Harkins (George); grandchildren, Christina Ingram (Nick), James Williams (Susan), Rachel Ziegle, Gary Deetz (Jennifer), Nicki Giles (Matthew), Jennifer Aviles (Erick), and Bobby Williams (Trista); 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at a later date in Florida.
