Billy Benfield

Billy Marion Benfield, 79, of E. Wolf Creek Rd. Clayton, Ga. and affectionately known as Bill, died Wednesday June 24, 2015 at Mtn. Lakes Medical Center. Bill was the widower of Janey Watts Benfield.

Born in Clayton, Ga Feb. 26, 1936, he was the son of the late John and Polly Wilborn Benfield. He was a retired machinist and was of the Baptist faith. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Benfield, and is survived by two sons, John Benfield (Janet) & Scott Benfield (Linda) both of Clayton, Ga. A daughter-in-law, Melanie Benfield of Clarkesville, Ga. Two brothers, Jim Benfield (Betty) and Ed Benfield (Susan) both of Cartersville, Ga. and a special sister-in-law, Margaret Crunkleton of Tiger, Ga. Grandchildren, Nathan, Austin, Jordan & Lauren, Madison, and Faith Benfield also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 27, 2015 at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Wright & Rev. Tony Goss officiating, and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating at graveside. Burial will be in the John & Ethel Watts Family Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home with Visitation from 6 to 9 P.M. Friday June 26, 2015. The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Linda Benfield on E. Wolf Creek Road, Clayton, Ga.
