Carey Kathleen Pasersky, born October 17, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia died peacefully and on her own terms April 19, 2025, in Tiger, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family and several Agatha Christie novels.
A romantic Navy “brat” in her youth, Carey called both U.S. coasts – and later the island of Guam – home before returning to sew and sow roots in her beloved South, where she attended Pensacola High School and the University of Georgia.
She now joins her parents, Minnie Lee and Joseph Clements Sr.; her brothers, Edward and Michael Clements; her daughter, Jane Pasersky; and her husband and treasured friend, Robert J. Pasersky, with whom she shared fifty-four "glorious" years of quiet partnership after marrying beneath an Arch of Swords in Brunswick, Georgia.
A devoted wife, gifted quilter, trusted friend, and loving mother, Carey is survived by her brother Joseph Clements Jr. and his wife Kevin; her sister Lee Baxter and her husband Mel; her sister-in-law Cindy Clements; her children and their much loved spouses Mary Anne (Thomas) Troutman, Susan (Edward) Downing and Robert C. (Ericka) Pasersky; and nine grandchildren – Kelsey (John) Lawroski, Max (Melissa), Taylor and Ben Troutman; Callie (Nicholas) Barbas; Emma Downing; and Matthew, Ella and Graham Pasersky – all of whom lovingly knew her as “Khaki,” a nickname inspired, in part, by her carefully curated khaki and white wardrobe.
While Carey often declared she loved us "the most," it is hard to imagine a love greater than the love she inspired in all those whose lives she touched.
May she find peace on her final road trip, just over the next mountain.
Ceremony to be held June 1, 2025 at 1:00pm, Christ Church Frederica, Saint Simons Island, Georgia.
