Daisy Martin Justice

Daisy Martin Justice, better known to her family and many others as, "Mama Daisy" went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2014.


Mama Daisy was born January 19, 1918 in Habersham County, Georgia to Oscar and Pearl Hopper Martin. Her family moved to the Betty’s Creek Community when she was a young child and she became one of the founding members of Betty’s Creek Baptist Church.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Oakley L. Justice, her son, Larry Justice, her daughter, Carol J. Foster, two sisters, Stella Burrell and Catherine Spencer.

She leaves behind three sons, Farrell Justice and wife, Carolyn, of Franklin, NC, Wayne Justice and wife, Kate, of Clayton, GA, Ronnie Justice, wife Peggy, of Tomball, TX and two daughers, Allene Mitchell and husband, Lloyd, and Ginger Bleckley and husband, Doug. Also, one sister, Eunice Keener, of Highlands, NC, and eighteen grandchildren, fourty-eight great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

Mama Daisy had an excellent memory and loved to reminisce about past times. She loved working in her flower beds, was an avid reader and crafter, from making corn shuck dolls to quilting. She loved and was involved with Foxfire for many years.

She always made you feel like she had been waiting to see just you all day... and then her day was complete. She didn’t tell us how to live; she lived, and let us watch her do it.

The family will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Betty’s Creek Baptist Church, at 2:00 pm. Her grandsons, Scott, Bryan and Travis Bleckley, Jeff Foster, Todd, Matthew, Ashley and Jason Justice and Stacy Mitchell will serve as Pallbearers.

Family will be at the home of Doug and Ginger Bleckley on Warwoman Road.
