Westminster – Doris Ann Owens Barker, 75, widow of the late Charles Howard “Wormy” Barker, of 100 Manor Road Apt. B, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at Oconee Medical Center.

Born in Rabun County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Verlon and Margaret Dendy Owens. Mrs. Barker formerly worked for West Point Stevens and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Nation (James West); brothers, Norman, Rufus, and Geter Owens; grandson, Michael Nation (Chelsea Reid); her best friend, Patsy Land; and very close friends, Libby Moore and Kim Lyle.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Charles Randall Barker.

A funeral service will be held 11 am, Friday, July 20, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in First Baptist Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
