Doris Cannon

Doris Hollifield Cannon, 92, of Hudson Street Tiger, Georgia., died Wednesday morning April 29, 2015., at Mountain View Health Care Clayton, Georgia. She was the widow of J.D. Cannon.

Born in Rabun County, Georgia., July 6, 1922., she was the daughter of the late John D. Hollifield, Sr., and Nora Keener Hollifield. She was a homemaker and a member of the Tiger Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death besides her parents, and her husband, by one brother, John D. Hollifield, Jr., three sisters, Catherine H. Scroggs, Ruth H. Shedd and Marion Gregory., and is survived by two sons, and their spouses, Dennis A. Cannon (Sue) of Centerville, GA., Terry D. Cannon (Lynne) of North Augusta, SC., one daughter, and her husband, Lana Norene Turner (Hugh) of Summerville, SC., one sister, Mildred H. Bramblett, Tiger, GA. Eleven grandchildren seventeen great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be at 3:00 P.M. Thursday April 30, 2015 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home conducted by Layman Lloyd Hunter. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park, Tiger, GA.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Thursday April 30, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. (The funeral hour). The family is at their respective residences.

The family would like to thank the staff from Mountain View Health & Rehab for their support/care & love over the last few years as well as United Hospice Staff.
