Dorothy Brown Nix

Dorothy Willis Brown Nix, 85, of Boggs Mountain Road., Tiger, GA., died at the home of her daughter, Jerlene Lawrence Tuesday January 29, 2019.

Born in Bryson City North Carolina May 7, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Garland Willis and Rita Lowe Willis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church in Scaly Mountain, North Carolina., Dorothy was twice married first to the late Ulyss Brown and later to Harold Nix .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Garland and Rita Willis by two brothers, Rev. Clifford Willis and Richard Willis and by two sisters, Viola Brown and Verona Tucker and is survived by one son, Timothy Brown (Linda) of Demorest, GA., two daughters, Josephine Bramlett of Tiger, GA., and Jerlene Lawrence (Gary) of Tiger, GA., one brother, Van Willis of Laport, indiana ., seven sisters, Marie Bryson of Clarkesville, GA., Paralee Brooks of Mountain City, GA., Virgie Yonce of Franklin, NC., Clara Little of Hortense, GA., Clover Martin of Murfreesboro, TN., Jewell Leonard of Lexington, NC., and Eva Clontz of TN., two grandchildren Tristian and Kimberly . Three Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be Friday February 1, 2019 at 2:30 P.M. The Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church Scaly Mountain, North Carolina., with Rev. Robert Nix officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the Church at 1: 30 P.M. to lie in state.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Thursday January 31, 2019 from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jerlene and Gary Lawrence on East Boggs Mountain Road Tiger, GA.
