Dorothy (Dot) Whitmire

Dorothy (Dot) Bell Speed Whitmire, 83 , of Clayton , passed away March 17, 2016 in Mtn. View Health Care Center , Clayton, Ga. Born July 28 , 1932 in Rabun County and was the daughter of the late Judson and Josie Goble Speed.

She worked at Burlington for many of years and was a member of the Sheltering Arms Gospel Tabernacle, Clayton, Ga.

She was the last member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death besides her parents her husband and a son and by numerous siblings and is survived by one granddaughter, Tammy Whitmire Hoffman , Clayton, Ga. and one great grandson , Seth McClemore, of Clayton along with a host of nieces , nephews and cousins also survive.

The body is at the Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends, Saturday March 19,2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The body will be taken to the Eastside Chapel which is located next door to our facility for services which will be held on Sunday March 20, 2016 at 4:00pm. with, Sam Manus , Tim Matheson and Allen Jack officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the Sheltering Arms Gospel Tabernacle on Hwy 76 west, 55 Shilo Lane , Clayton , Ga. where they will receive friends after the service on Sunday for a meal and fellowship.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorial donations to be made to the Sheltering Arms Gospel Tabernacle, P.O Box 1749 Clayton, Ga. 30525.
