Edith Cantrell Watts

Edith Cantrell Watts, age 89, of Tiger, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026. She was born on September 28, 1936, in Rabun County, Georgia, to the late Hugh and Virginia Cantrell.

Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max Watts, who passed away on December 14, 2022.

Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family and creating a loving home. She especially loved cooking and was well known for the wonderful meals she prepared for those she loved.

She is survived by her children: two sons, John M. Watts (Elena) of Clayton, Georgia, and Kyle L. Watts (Sabrona) of Tiger, Georgia; and three daughters, June Littrell (Glen) of Tiger, Georgia, Pam Beck (Fred) of Tiger, Georgia, and Laura Holt (Shayne) of Tiger, Georgia. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by two sons, Mark Weldon Watts and Michael Hugh Watts. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Rocky Grove Baptist Church, with her son, Rev. Kyle Watts, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Grove Community Cemetery.
