Elise Welch Eller, age 95, of Cartersville, Georgia, formerly of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
She was born on October 16, 1930, in Clayton, Georgia, to the late Bill Welch and Laura Irene McCloud Welch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbie Lee Eller.
Elise loved to sew, quilt, play bingo, and listen to music, especially gospel music, as her love for Jesus was the foundation of her life. She dearly loved her dog, Lucie, and her cat, Rowdy. Elise was well known for her baking, especially her delicious pound cakes, which she loved sharing with family and friends. One of her favorite sayings was, “You’ll never go hungry as long as you have cornbread and milk.”
She is survived by her children, Barbara "Bobbie" Murdock (Douglas), Philip Randy Eller (fiancée, Susan Marable), Beatrice Louise "Lou" Eller, Joseph "Joe" John Eller, and Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Eller (Aisha); grandchildren, Michael Chambers, Tommy Chambers, Elise Kutlik, Jennifer Cullifer, Emerson Bell, Barbara Sheppard, John Daniel Eller, Sarah Melissa Noland, Amanda Marie Hicks, Kody Eller, and Aaron Eller; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Cynthia Welch; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marie Wood, Frankie Mae Welch, J.B. Welch, F.D. Welch, Red Welch, Beadie Welch, Sara Jean Harrison, Wayne Welch, and Kenneth Welch.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Abernathy and Randy Eller officiating. Burial will follow at the Welch Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service, at Hunter Funeral Home.
