Ellie Lou Henslee

Ellie Lou Henslee, age 79, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with her family by her side.

She was born on November 8, 1946, to the late Easburn Whitworth and Alice Robinson Whitworth. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Henslee.

Ellie had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and especially spending time cutting and burning firewood. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Although her time at the nursing home in Toccoa was brief, Ellie's kind spirit and warm personality left a lasting impression on both the staff and the residents. She quickly became a friend to many and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Green, and his wife, Sheryl; her daughter, Rachel Taylor and her husband, Phillip; her grandchildren, Wayne Green (Courtney), Blake Moore, Dillan Moore (Lydia), and Brela Dover; her great-grandchildren, Madison Green, Megan Green, Jax Voss, Coen Moore, Kenley Moore, and Colby Moore; her sister, Thelma West; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Austin Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Robinson Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Hunter Funeral Home, 423 Warwoman Road, Clayton, Georgia 30525.
