Esther Hill

Esther Miller Hill, 77, of Clayton, Georgia., died Sunday August 31, 2014 at her home.

Born in Scaly Mountain North Carolina., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Frank and Cora Moore Miller. She was twice married; first to the late Bill Garrett and later to the late Ben Hill, Jr.

Esther was retired from Burlington Industries and served Rabun County in many different capacities along with being a homemaker. She was a member of the Persimmon Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Frank and Cora Moore Miller, paternal grandparents, Ingram and Margaret Watkins Miller, Maternal grandparents, Hiram and Mary Jane Garland Moore. She was also preceded in death by a brother; William Miller and sisters, Ruby Mason, Helen Brown, Annabelle Mason, Louise Dockery, Ruth Corpening and Daisy Brown, and is survived by one son, Randy Garrett of Clayton, GA., one daughter, Cindy Hudgins of Clayton, GA. one brother, James Miller (Hazel) of Scaly Mtn. NC., two sisters, Naomi Johnston (Murgil) of Asheville, NC., Lorretta Norris (Harry) of Scaly Mtn, NC. One step son, Johnny Hill (Lisa) of Longview, WA., one Step daughter, Dottie Prescott (Steve) of Longview, WA., Three grandchildren, Justin Hudgins, Dylan Hudgins and Erin Garrett. Three great grandchildren, Garrett Hudgins, Jillian English and Logan Hudgins Three step grandchildren, Cole George, Kaydi Prescott and Cooper Prescott. One step great great grandchild, Kylie George also survives.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday September 5, 2014 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Conner, Rev. Glenville Nichols and Pastor Madison McCracken officiating. Rev. Adam Wright will conduct graveside services. Burial will be in Rabun Memory Park.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Thursday September 4, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at the home of her daughter, Cindy Hudgins on Cat Gap Road in the Persimmon Community, Clayton, Georgia.
