Floyd Brent Henslee

Floyd Brent Henslee, age 79, of Rabun Gap, GA passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

He was born on December 22, 1943, to the late Fred “Buck’ Henslee and Belle Wilburn Henslee. He was married to Mary Ann Henslee.

Floyd enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; he was always eager to gather for a meal or play a game of checkers, creating memories that last a lifetime. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed any time spent in the woods, but most of all, he was an avid coon hunter who never missed a chance to go. Floyd was a man of Christ who served and attended the Mountain City Church of God religiously for over 40 years. To know him was to love him; he always had a smile on his face and a tale to tell.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann, Floyd is survived by his daughter, Tina Taylor and husband Jeff; one son, Farrell Henslee and wife Samantha; grandchildren, Jerimia Taylor (Courtney), Eli Taylor (Sarah), Jacob Henslee, Farress King (James) and Torie Barrett (Foster); great grandchildren, Hallie Taylor, Dawson Taylor, Harlie Taylor, Emery Henslee and Rorie Barrett; sister, Edith Conner and Sue Patton, several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Henslee and Hugh “Bud” Henslee.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Mountain City Church of God with Rev. Don Moffitt and Pastor Len Pirkle officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery.
