Frances Elaine McCall, age 68, of Otto, North Carolina, formerly of Clayton, Georgia, passed away peacefully.
She was born on September 12, 1956, the daughter of the late Jesse Joe Weaver and Catherine Phillips Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McCall, and her companion of 17 years, Ray Thrift.
Frances was a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of Blue Valley Baptist Church. In the 1990s, she was honored as Ms. North Carolina Wheelchair—a title that reflected her grace and resilience. She dedicated nearly 20 years of service to Walmart, where she worked as the floral department manager, and in more recent years, she was employed at the newest Ingles location in Franklin, North Carolina.
Among her many passions, one of her greatest joys was watching butterflies—finding peace and beauty in their gentle flight.
She is survived by her sister, Audrey Penland (Davis Green), and her brother, Curtis Weaver (Joan); nephews, Joey Penland, Brian Weaver, Cole Weaver, Justin Garrett, Jonathan Garrett, and Eric Hollifield; and two great-nieces, Bryleigh Weaver and Bristol Weaver.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home.
