Fred Childers

Fred Allen Childers Jr., 76, of Clayton, Ga. , went home to be with his Lord and Savior , Tuesday March 8 , 2016.

Born in Rabun County Feb. 3, 1940, He was the son of the late Fred Allen Childers , Sr. , and Helen Ruth Burrell Childers , Fred retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as an Engineer and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

Fred was preceded in death besides his parents one brother , Robert S. Childers , and is survived his wife of the home , Velma Ramey Childers , one son , Michael Shaun Childers (Lori) of Loganville , Ga. , one daughter , Tonja Lynn Childers of Clayton, Ga. , two sisters, Mary Ann Whittington (Al) , Clayton, Ga. , Helen Garland , Dalton, Ga. five grandchildren also survive along with nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Funeral Services will be, Saturday March 12, 2016 at 11:00 am., at the Clayton Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Carver, Rev. Kyle Watts officiating the body will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10 am until the service hour. Burial Clayton Cemetery.

The body is at the Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 11, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

The family is at the Home on Warwoman Rd.
