Gene Winfield Hewitt

Gene Winfield Hewitt, 68, of Tiger, GA passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home. 

Born in Alameda, CA on May 17, 1952 he was the son of Lloyd Hewitt and the late Elaine Viola Riley Hewitt. He was a veteran of the US Military and also worked as a self-employed carpenter and roofer and was of the Baptist faith.

His mother Elain Hewitt preceded him in death and he is survived by his girlfriend, Sherry Hewitt, his father and step -mother Lloyd and Carolyn Hewitt three sons, Bruce Kimblee Baxter of Clarkesville, GA, Jason Hewitt and David Hewitt both of Clayton, GA and by two granddaughters he raised in the home who he thought of as his daughters Chelsey Hewitt of Crossville, TN., and Katie Hewitt of Griffin, GA., by two sisters, Karen Rogers of Florida and Heidi Hickman of Folkston, GA., Twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.  

The body has been cremated and a private memorial service will take place at a later date. 

The family is at the home on Catamount Lane in Tiger, GA.
