George Henry

George Ellis Henry, 84, of the Persimmon Community, Clayton, GA died Thursday January 24,2019 in Murphy, NC.

Born in Rabun County November 24,1934 he was the son of the late Carl Sherdon Henry and Roxie Burel Moore Henry. He was retired from the Rabun County School system as a bus driver and was also a heavy machine mechanic and was a member of Persimmon Baptist Church. 

Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Nell Thompson Henry, and by his parents, Carl and Burel Roxy Henry also by a daughter, Renee Henry, two sisters, Sylvia Henry and Berma Poole. He is survived by a son Randy Henry (Wanda) of Clayton, GA a daughter Revonda Littrell (Bo) of Clayton, GA, by three sisters, Jerry Hooper (Hoyt) of Cornelia, GA, Jane Bingham (Eddie) of Clayton, GA, Vivian Davis (Jack) of Dillard, GA by a brother, Vernon Henry of Clayton, GA and by six grandchildren, Erica, Clancy, Kelsey, Cole, Jayton, Celton also by three great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be Sunday January 27, 2019 at the Persimmon Baptist Church 2:30pm with Rev. Steve York officiating. Burial will follow at Persimmon Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be Saturday January 26,2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The family is at their respective residences.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made, in his memory, to The American Heart Association, PO Box 744806 Atlanta, GA 30374.
