Gerry Douglas “Pops” Webb, age 70, of Long Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026.
He was born on November 21, 1955, to the late Edmond and Nancy Ella Webb. He was married to his loving wife, Barbara Ramey Webb, for 52 years.
Doug was known by many as the "Junk-Man," a nickname that suited him well. He enjoyed painting houses and was never afraid of hard work. When he wasn't working, he loved being outdoors, especially piddling with his 55 chevy, fishing and enjoying the simple things in life. Doug was an independent man who liked living life his own way. More than anything, he loved his family and his faithful dog, Bo-Bo, who was always by his side. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, strong independence, and the love he had for those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Webb; his children, Justin Webb (Melissa), Nicole Webb, and Rosie Rogers; his grandson, Dominick Webb; his great-grandchildren, Matthew and Oakland Webb; his sister, Barbara Alexander (Harold); his brother, Harold Webb; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Lynn Webb; his brothers, Roger, Ricky, Danny, and Jimmy; and his sisters, Gladys, Dorothy, Theresa, and Vicky. He was also preceded in death by his special nieces and nephew, Brenda Nicholson, Debbie Bishop and Tony Webb.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Clayton Church of God with Rev. Brian Alexander, Rev. Kenny Kilby, and Perry Lunsford officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour at the church. Burial will follow at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
