With hearts full of sorrow and love, we announce the passing of our precious son, Gunner Austin Cochran, who was born into heaven on July 9, 2025. Though his time on Earth was brief, the impact he made on our lives is immeasurable.
Gunner was the beloved son of Dalton and Meagan Cochran, who held him with infinite love on the day he was born. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Easton; grandparents, Scotty and Cindy Bishop, and Kip and Chimene Cochran; great-grandparents, Mark and Linda Bishop, Harley Keener, Cynthia Vinson, and Sally Rudisill; uncles and aunts, Austin and Kisha Bishop, and Dillon and Trinity Cochran; and cousins, Epps and Brynleigh Bishop. A special friend who was like an uncle, Dylan Wyatt, also survives him, along with a host of extended family and friends who were eagerly awaiting the chance to love on him.
He was preceded in death by Dock and Katherine Cochran, Albert and Michelle Rudisill, Kitty Vinson, Maxine Hodgins, J.D. Tallent, Bryson Hodgins, and Grace Altman.
Even though Gunner never took a breath outside the womb, his life touched many. He was fearfully and wonderfully made, and his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
A funeral service will be held at Windy Gap Baptist Church on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Windy Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Windy Gap Baptist Church.
