Harriet Dayton

Harriet Gravley Dayton, 77, of Clayton, Georgia., died Monday May 19, 2014 at her home.

Born in Rabun County in the Warwoman Community, October 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William Roy Gravley and Kancie Galloway Gravley. She was employed by Claburne MFG. Company and held other jobs over a period of years along with being a homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dayton was preceded in death by brothers, William Franklin Gravley and Roy Craig Gravley and by sisters, Annie Helen Owens, Rosa Inez Beasley and Patricia Gail Gravley and is survived by two sons, Raymond Anthony (Tony) Harding (Wanda) Demorest, GA., Gregory Darrell (Greg) Dayton of Clayton, GA. One brother, Rev. Bill Gravley of Lakemont, GA. Two sisters, Sarah Jane Smith of Tiger, GA., and Belle Barnes of Denver, NC. Two grandchildren, Holly Harding and Ernest Ray Harding, and one great grandchild, Zain Harding.

The body has been cremated and memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 31, 2014 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gravley officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday May 31, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. (The funeral hour). The family is at their respective residences. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in her memory, to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653 Clayton, GA. 30525 to aid in funeral expenses.
