Ida Holcomb

November 1, 1924 — November 9, 2018

Ida "Lou" Holcomb, 94, of the Five Points Community in Clayton, passed away at her home on  November 9, 2018.

Lou was the daughter of the late Ernest and Effie Holcomb and has lived in Rabun County her entire life. Although she never married or had children of her own, Lou helped raise each one of her nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Myrtle Holcomb McCall, a brother, George Holcomb, niece Joyce McCall Erwin, and two nephews, Cecil and Carroll McCall. Survivors of Lou include; her nieces, Martha Teague and Dan of Clayton, Lucy Palmer of Atlanta, Barbara Black of Gulf Shores, AL, and a nephew Bud Holcomb of Valdosta. Surviving, great nieces and nephews include; Becky McGahee (Sean), Wayne Teague (Dawna), Stacey McCall (Vicky), Bruce McCall (Cathey)m Kristen English (Charity), Keith Palmer, Sharon Black, Robin Black, and Terry Black along with 11 great-great nieces and nephews and 3 geat-great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Hunter Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 6-8pm and funeral services will be at Clayton Church of God on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2pm followed by a graveside service at Wiley Cemetery. 

Family will also be receiving friends at her niece, Martha Teague and her husband Dan's home on Raspberry Drive in Clayton.
