James Melvin Grant

James Melvin Grant, age 84, of Tiger, GA passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Born on May 5, 1939, he is the son of the late Lawton and Ardella (Mashburn) Grant. Melvin owned and operated his own logging company. He was driven by his deep love for the industry, which he continued to reflect upon even in recent times.

He is survived by one daughter, Sherry Shipman and husband George of Tiger, GA; one granddaughter, Regina Cable; and one brother Bobby Grant and wife Carolyn.

Melvin was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Grant; four sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Watts officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM prior to the service.

The family will have a time of fellowship after the service at the house of Bobby and Carolyn Grant.
