James Edward Phillips , 80 , of Lakemont , Ga. died Friday Feb.21 , 2009 at his residence.
Born in Rabun County December 19 , 1928 to the late Charlie and Essie Dodgins Phillips he was a member of the Taylors Chapel Baptist Church . He was preceded in death by one son ; Charles Edward Phillips and by a sister Ruth Phillips Gragg and is survived by his wife Susie Jones Phillips of the home one son , Tim Phillips and wife Amy of Asheboro , North Carolina ,four daughters; Donna Rogers and husband , Randall of Baldwin , Ga. , Janet Yarnall and husband Joe of Lakemont , Ga. , Brenda Bryson and her husband , Wayne of Asheboro , North Carolina , Charlotte English and her husband Roger of Clayton, Georgia . , one sister Catherine Weaver of Lakemont , Ga. eleven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren , several nephews , nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday , Feb. 24 , 2009 at the Flat Creek Baptist Church at eleven O’clock A.M. where the body will lie in state from ten O’clock A.M. until service time with the Rev. Michael Rogers , Rev. John Gibson and Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating . Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday Night Feb. 23 , 2009 .
The family is at the home on W. Wolfcreek Rd. in Lakemont , Ga.
