Janet Chamblee Benfield

Janet Chamblee Benfield, 66, of Clayton, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 25, 2026 with her family by her side.

She was born December 21, 1959 to the late Eugene Chamblee and the late Lou Ellen Robinson Love.

Janet was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, thrifting, auctions, dinner shows in Pigeon Forge, walking with Brenda and Besty, gospel singing and she loved The Lord with all her heart and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, John Benfield; daughters, Jessica Welch (Andrew) and Jan Bader (Kyle); sons, Nathan Benfield (Stacy) and Austin Benfield (Courtney); brother, Jesse Chamblee; sister, Debra Coalley; seven grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends at Battle Branch Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm with services to follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tully Griggs, Rev. Bill Trotter and Rev. Waylon Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Watts Cemetery in Clayton, Georgia.
