Janie Evelyn Henslee

Janie Evelyn Henslee, 77, of Rabun County, GA passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at her daughter's residence in Clarkesville, GA.

Born in Rabun County on January 18, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Henslee and Grace Eugene Watts. She spent her life in Rabun County where she worked for over forty years as a cook at Henry's Restaurant. She was also of the Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Grace Henslee, brothers, George, Bobby, Tommy, David and Junior Henslee and sisters, Ruth Dodgins and Linda Whitmire. She is survived by daughters, Jeana Ramey of Tiger, GA, Grace and Jeff Higgins of Clarkesville, GA and Hope and Danny Melton of Sylva, NC, and a brother Curtis and Ellie Henslee of Turnerville, GA. Six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.

The body has been cremated. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home and a memorial service will follow directly after at 3:00pm at the Eastside Chapel with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating.
