Janie Parker

Janie Parker, age 93, of Clayton, GA, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at Mountain View Health and Rehab in Clayton, GA.

Janie was born August 14, 1929, in Habersham County, GA, she was the daughter of Clarence and Lavonia Phillips. She was married to the love of her life, Homer Parker. Janie was a member of Timpson Presbyterian Church. Janie loved to travel, she would board a Trailways bus, and she would tour the United States. The only States that she was unable to visit were the Dakotas and Hawaii. She loved people and enjoyed laughing and making new friends. She was also known for making the best chocolate gravy around.

She is survived by four children, Sherry Buck (Danny), Cecil Parker (Joyce), Sandra Parker, and Greg Parker (Lora); eight grandchildren, Danielle, Erica, Chris, Damon, Heather, Mandy, Parker and Dillon; lots of beloved great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Bertha McKay.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 6th, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 7, 2023, 2:00 PM at Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger, GA.
