Jeanette Elaine McCrackin

Jeanette Elaine McCrackin, age 68, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on June 3, 2025. Born on August 20, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Rance Thrift and Jane Gilstrap Thrift. Jeanette was married to Clod McCrackin for over 53 years.

Jeanette’s greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren—she lived for them. She loved spending time fishing on the creek bank or pond, going camping and found comfort in the music of Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty.

She is survived by her husband, Clod McCrackin; three children, Jeff McCrackin (Jessica), Sandy Justice (Steven), and Josh McCrackin (Amanda); grandchildren, Wyatt McCrackin, Lane Wofford, Emma Owens, Krista Whitmire, Nathan Justice, Courtney Justice, Conner Justice, and Kelsey McCrackin; great grandchildren, Braycen Whitmire, Colter Wofford, Cohen Wofford, one on the way, Branch Justice, Weston Justice and Abigail Justice; one brother, R.B. Thrift; sisters, Judy Ramey, Joyce Thrift, Joanne Thrift, and Jenni Frady; and her best friend, April Dills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Thrift and Roger Thrift.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at McCrackin Family Cemetery with Rev. Dexter James officiating. The family will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
