John Sherman Anderson

John Sherman Anderson, 76, of Rabun Gap, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Born on August 10, 1949, in Seneca, Missouri, John dedicated much of his life to the service of his country. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring after a distinguished 22-year career. As a skilled mechanic, he spent the majority of his service maintaining and repairing airplanes and helicopters, ensuring the safety and mission-readiness of his fellow airmen.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine White Anderson.

He is survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tina and George Harkins, who provided him with dedicated care and companionship over the past six and a half years. One son, Christopher Anderson; and two daughters, Stephanie Anderson and Jennifer Aviles.

In accordance with his wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.
