Johnny Finis Gragg

Johnny Finis Gragg, age 87, of the Flat Creek Community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 30, 1938, in Clayton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Finis and Minnie Gragg. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel Gragg.

Johnny was a true mountain man at heart who loved nothing more than hunting and working in his garden, where he was known to give away more than he ever kept. Some of his happiest days were spent fishing with his boys. He dearly loved his family and took special joy in spending time with his grandbabies. In his later years, he found a real passion for beekeeping and could often be found tending his bees and keeping a close watch over them.

He is survived by his children, Kimothy Dotson of Arkansas; Dana Gragg of Arkansas; Keith Gragg (Margaret) of Lakemont, Georgia; Dawn Thomas of Lakemont, Georgia; Kevin Gragg of Lakemont, Georgia; and Curtis Gragg of Outer Banks, NC; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Dale Gragg.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hunter Funeral Home, located at 423 Warwoman Road, Clayton, Georgia 30525.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Michael Rogers officiating.
