Johnny Lee McCoy, 72, of Otto, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Born on May 21, 1954, in Rabun County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Earl McCoy and Mary Talley McCoy.
Johnny had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. One of his greatest joys was riding his motorcycle alongside the many friends he made through his motorcycle club.
He is survived by his son, Dillan McCoy; brother, Randall McCoy; sister, Linda Cabe; grandchildren, Samantha Mote, and Alyssa Dawn Smith; great grandchild, Colton Raye Hyde; Jacob Burrell, who was like a son to him; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie McCoy Shaffer; brother, Lee Burrell; and sister, Brenda Watkins.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with William "Red Dog" Petaccio officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour.
Burial will follow at Hale Ridge Cemetery.
