Katie Jane Watts

January 23, 1943 — June 1, 2025

Rabun Gap, GA

Katie Jane Watts, age 82, of Rabun Gap, GA, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025. She was born on January 23, 1943, in Macon County, NC, to the late Elmor “Buddy” Stanfield and Martha Treadway Stanfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Watts.

Katie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cherishing her beloved cat, Precious, enjoying long phone conversations, watching her favorite cartoons, tending to her flower garden, and most of all, playing Bingo. Above all else, she deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She lived her life the best way she knew how—with heart, strength, and determination.

She is survived by her two granddaughters, Ashley Brodeur of Rabun Gap, GA, and Allison Wall of Cornelia, GA; one grandson, William Wall of Clayton, GA; and her great-grandchildren, Aubry Arreguin, Seth Brodeur, and C.J. Brodeur. She is also survived by one brother, Johnny Stanfield of Franklin, NC, and a son-in-law, David Wall, who loved her very much.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Wall, and her son, Frank B. Watts.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating.
