Kenneth George Hillman, age 89, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at his home.
Kenneth was born June 25, 1933 in Milford, Illinois, he was the son of George and Edith Hillman. Kenneth had a passion for music which he learned from his uncle Ray. He was a cornet player by trade, he composed and arranged shows, acted in movies and on television, published poems and had a degree from the California Wine Institute. Throughout the years he played with the likes of Wayne Newton, Elvis Presley, Debbie Reynolds, Nat King Cole, Jerry Lee Lewis and Frank Sinatra, just to name a few.
Ken moved to Rabun County to be closer to his sister and while here he teamed up with Ted Parker and played shows together at various local venues in the area.
He is survived by three children, Presh Hillman, Richard Hillman and Kenna Matsui, several grandchildren; nieces, Melody Reeves, Wendy Price and Holly Claude; Caregiver and dearest friend in the world Kathy Fountain; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, 2:00 PM at Taylors Chapel Church with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM prior to the service. Internment will follow in Taylors Chapel Cemetery.
