Louise Ramey

Louise Holt Ramey, 87, of Clayton, affectionately known as “Mamaw”, died July 20,2019 at her home. She was the widow of Vernice Ramey

Born in Rabun Gap, GA, June 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Earl Holt and Leila Mae Holt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Clayton Church of God. 

Louise was preceded in death, besides her parents, Earl and Leila Holt, her husband, Vernice Ramey by a son, Terry A. Ramey, two daughters, Jean Carter and Linda Mackin. She is survived by two sons, Johnny Ramey (Linda) of Clayton, GA and Scott Ramey (April) of Clayton, GA, five daughters, Jeanette Webb (Harold) of Clayton, GA, Barbara Webb (Doug) of Mtn Rest, SC, Sheryl Green (Jerry) of Turnerville, GA, Judy Thrift of Clayton, GA, Cammey Carpenter (Stacy) of Rabun Gap, GA, three sisters, Sally Wilson of Gainesville, GA, Rosalee Shook of Clayton, GA and Joanne Justus of Gainesville, GA. And one special grandson, Tyler Ramey who was raised in the home. Twenty-six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren also survive. 

Funeral services will be Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00am at the Clayton Church of God with Rev. Bryan Alexander and Layman Perry Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park, Tiger, GA.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to Clayton Church of God Sunday evening, July 21, 2019, where visitation will be from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. 
The family is at her home on Dunlap Street.
