Mary Darnell Ramey

Mary Darnell Ramey, age 73, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on November 7, 2026.

Born on March 6, 1953, in Clayton, Georgia, Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who always had a heart for others. Many in the community knew Mary from her time working as a manager at Dairy Queen.

Mary had a special love for animals and spent much of her life rescuing and caring for them. She also enjoyed watching hummingbirds, crocheting, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she found great joy in being there for the people she loved. Mary was happiest when she was helping someone or simply enjoying time with her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Ramey; her parents, Buck Darnell and Ruth Bingham Darnell; and her siblings, Jim Darnell, George Darnell, Becky Cannon, Virginia Darnell, David Darnell, Reid Darnell, Freddie Darnell, and Wayne Darnell.

She is survived by her son, Kenny Jamison (Melissa); her daughter, Billie Jamison; her grandchildren, Brooke Wilbanks, Garrett Jamison, and Kennlie Wright (Hunter); her siblings, Bill Darnell (Bernice), Frank Darnell (Wanda), Patti Gowens (Scott), and Diane Stowe (Danny); along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jamie Chastain officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.
