Michelle Jeanette Potts, 67, of Highlands, North Carolina, gained her angel wings on Thursday, October 29, 2026. She leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and beautiful memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.
Michelle was truly one of a kind. She was funny, headstrong, hardworking, fiercely independent, and, as those who knew her best would agree, just a little stubborn. She had a way of bringing light and laughter wherever she went, and her strength and determination were qualities that defined her throughout her life.
A resident of Highlands for more than 30 years, Michelle took great pride in her home and loved spending time outdoors working in her yard. She was also an incredible cook, a talent she inherited from her father, who was a chef. No matter what she was making, you could count on it being delicious. Cooking was just one of the many ways she showed her love for those around her.
Above all, Michelle's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Danielle, whom she raised with endless love, strength, and determination. To Danielle, she was so much more than a mama. She was her best friend, her biggest supporter, and her person. Their bond was something truly special, filled with laughter, daily conversations, and a love that words could never fully describe. Michelle taught her daughter the importance of hard work, independence, and perseverance, lessons that will be carried with her for the rest of her life.
Michelle was also a proud and loving Mimi to her grandson, Colton, whom she loved with every ounce of her heart. He brought her so much happiness, and she treasured every moment she spent with him. The love they shared and the memories they made will forever hold a special place in his heart.
Michelle is survived by her daughter, Danielle, son-in-law, Ethan, her beloved grandson, Colton, and her mother, Janice Giammarino. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Sevigny.
There will never be enough time with someone who means everything to you. While Michelle's family would give anything for more time with her, they find peace and comfort in knowing she is now resting in the loving arms of the Lord. Her laughter, strength, and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Until we meet again, we will carry your love with us in everything we do.
A celebration of Michelle's life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
