Mildred Lucille "Lucy" Meggett

Mildred Lucille "Lucy" Meggett, age 79 of Clayton, GA,  passed away Monday, March 18, 2024. 

She was born Friday, May 5, 1944 in Rabun County, GA and was the daughter of the late, Hilton Jones and Martha Lillian Jones Watts. She was married to her loving husband of 33 years, John Ashton Meggett. 

In addition to her husband John, she was survived by her children, Shelia Cannon of Clayton, GA, Terry Cannon (Amanda) of Albany, KY, Kevin Cannon of Flowery Branch, GA, Jennipher Meggett Jackson and Connie Matthews of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Ashley Caputo (Warren), Kylie Cannon (Josh Sims), Aaron Cannon, Bryce Cannon, Emma Cannon, Steven Meggett (Brittney), Angelique Jackson, Andrew Steinbach (Julie), Amanda Griffin (Chris), and Savannah Ruiz (Luke); great grandchildren, Dax Caputo, Isaiah Sims, Jaxon Meggett, Mila Meggett, Barrett Steinbach and Axel Steinbach; sisters, Phyllis Jones Ramey and Janice Jones Hembree; niece, Tonya Ramey (Jeff); nephew, Wesley Hembree; and special daughters, Melissa Duran, Sherry Taylor, Connie Beasley, Leah Cannon, Taphie Galloway and Marlene Defoor.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Kimberly Michelle Cannon.
 
Funeral Services will be held  at Clayton Baptist Church on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastors Joey Thompson and Cliff Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park. Visitation will be prior to the service at Clayton Baptist Church from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
