Paul Carlton Dotson, age 64 of Clayton, GA, passed away on Wednesday April 3, 2024.  He was born December 13, 1959, in Rabun County, GA to the late Thomas (Tom) Eugene Dotson and Athena Joyce Angel Dotson.  In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by his sister Mary Dawn Dotson Smith and brother Mark W. Dotson.

He is survived by his son Ryan Chandler Dotson of Clayton, GA; stepdaughter Stephanie Williams Beck of Otto, NC and her three children; two brothers Joey Dotson of Clayton, and Dan Dotson (Amy) of Toccoa, GA.

Paul was an entrepreneur of sorts.  After Highschool he went to technical school to become an EMT and later a paramedic. He worked for Rabun County EMS, Blueridge EMS and Habersham EMS.  He acted as shift supervisor and instructor during his time at Rabun County.  He was well known as a great paramedic.

He purchased a convenience store and he and his family ran the store named Gulf Mart and later Clayton BP.   He sold that and opened Clayton Pawn and Jewelry.  During this time, he became Police Commissioner while serving on the Mtn. City Council.  He also acted as deputy Coroner under Lloyd Hunter for a while and owned and operated Rabun Bail and Bonding Company.

Paul loved his family and especially his son Ryan and grand dog Monkey.  Paul was very smart, witty, and loved pranks, according to many of his EMS family.

May he rest in peace in his Heavenly home and free from pain.
