Peggy Henson

Peggy Hunter Henson, 79, of Clayton died Tuesday September 20, 2016 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia. She was the widow of Dover W. Henson, Sr.

Peggy was born in Rabun County to the late Ferd A. Hunter and Amanda Baker Hunter on February 11, 1937. She had retired from the textile industry, having worked for Claburne and Haynes and was a homemaker. She was a former member of the homemakers of Rabun County and was a member of the Tiger United Methodist Church.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Mae Hunter and is survived by a son, Dover W. Henson, Jr., of Clayton., a brother, Gerald T. Hunter of Tiger., and by a granddaughter, Hailey Henson of Sky Valley. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday September 27, 2016 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park, Tiger, GA. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. ( The funeral hour) on Tuesday September 27, 2016. Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in her honor, to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 241 Clayton, GA. 30525.


The family is at the home of her brother, Gerald Hunter on Turpin Street, Tiger, GA.
